the Locket

This fabulous little locket was waiting for me at "Forever 21". It had this fuzzy picture of a tiny blue flower on the front of it. I didn't love the picture, but the locket was around $5.oo and was calling out to me. Just something about it. (You know that feeling?) I got it home and still wasn't wearing it because of that blue flower. So, I printed out a thumbnail of a picture of my sister, my daddy, and me, and trimmed it to fit. I coated a layer of diamond glass over the flower image, placed the new image on top, and coated another layer of diamond glass to seal the picture. I was pleased to see that it didn't damage the photo at all. After it had dried for a few hours I handled and studied it. It was clear, thick, glossy, and I really liked the results. For jewelry I would say that it worked out much better than Modge Podge. It makes me smile that my cheep shopping mall junk jewelry find now looks like a vintage heirloom. :):)

How wonderful! You're such a Clever Connie. Great job, perfect picture! And you are very sweet to be concerned about the initial pendants. No worriesat all! I'll look forward to your shop opening one day. : )

This is incredible Holly. The picture looks completely vintage! It looks like taken in the past century, I can not believe it is a picture only a few decades old.
I love the pendant as well, love the feel and the look of the metal. This is a beautiful piece of jewelry and you are very talented. But I already knew that.;))

I cried. Seriously. When I saw it. Darn it all...so much for my makeup...just kidding. It really turned out beautifully. Too bad it makes us look like we should be in our 90's instead of our 30's (ha ha ha)! LOVE YOU LIKE CRAZY!

That is SO cool! I will remember those products in case I ever attempt something like that. I have bought quite a bit of fun, funky jewelry at Forever 21. It actually looks good because it looks "old."

That turned out sooo beautifully! I can't believe how old the picture looks. I have never heard of Diamond Glass, though. I will have to keep my eyes open for some fabulous jewelry like this so I can revamp it, too. Thanks for the inspiration.
