A little excessive?.....

It is no secret that I have too many bows.
FAR too many bows,...for my little girls.
I needed bigger, longer, more substantial bow holders for them,...so I made these. Easy, fun, cute.
It seems my problem is that once I have more places to put them I seem to collect/make more of them. :p (pffftt...)
Only seven more of them. ;)

My new favorite little trick is to put a fabric scrap booking brad right in the center. A nifty little detail that I stole from my friend Portia. (Thanks Portia.)

A little excessive??
Yep..............
Is anyone aware of a support group for this sort of thing??

Thrifty Thursday

Bloggeritaville is once again celebrating Thrifty Thursday, and I thought I would add my 2 cents worth......................The last of the beautiful treasures gifted to me by my mom when I was in Utah. I have posted in the past about my love affair with with Blue Willow, Blue Chintz, Blue Delft, Blue Toile,.......you name it. My mother saved these for me and they match several pieces that I already own. Thank You mom!!!!
My FABULOUS find at Clair's Boutique in the mall........................This little gem was originally 8-ish dollars. Then it was marked down to half price. From there it went to $2-. By the time I serendipit-ied across it, it happened to be all by it's exquisite self on a 50% off rack. My favorite one dollar find in a very long time!!!

Button Necklace

My fabulous friend Kodi was wearing a button necklace one day.

No ordinary button necklace. A catch your eye and make you stare.....and smile.....button necklace.

I swallowed my pride and asked if I could copy,...if I could make one. A few days later cute Kodi e-mailed me pictures of her little crafty piece of wonderful-ness (which to me meant that I definitely had permission to copy.)

So I did,...............here is my version of her 'stare-at-able' treasure of copy worthy fashion.

Thank you Kodi!!! I think that I need to make many, many, many more!!!

I am linking this to Frugal Friday at the Shabby Nest.

Vintage Toys

It is Frugal Friday at the Shabby Nest so I thought I would post a few more of the treasures that were given to me by my mom during my recent trip to Utah. After all,...what's more frugal then free?I have a real fondness for vintage toys! The good old kind that did more than make a lot of noise, spin around, and light up. The ones that were darn near indestructible and really prompted imaginative play. Good solid metal, or brightly painted wood.

Toys just aren't made the way they used to be.

-wow,..........I am starting to sound like my dad................

............I digress...........

I have mentioned before that my mom collects everything under the sun. (Not exaggerating!!) One of the best things about her collections is her philosophy "If one is good,...ten is better." (My mom cracks me up.:)) So all of her collections are in multiples and often times she is happy to share.

On our last trip to Utah she gave me this gyroscope because my boys were fascinated with it. It is vintage and heavy duty. It spins for minutes after you let it go. Needless to say it has been a great source of entertainment around here.

But my favorite, which I was fascinated with, is this little metal wind up car. It winds up the 'old fashioned' way with a little metal key. Then it scoots off in circles all over your hard floors making the old clunky ring of a bike bell the whole time. What a wonderful little piece of the past. Thank You Mom!! And,...Happy Frugal Friday to everyone!!
