Yes it was a light bulb,...and now it's an ornament. I love a crafty re-purpose, especially when it uses something that would otherwise be discarded. I just decoupaged tissue paper onto this little light bulb and finished it off with some ribbon. Imagine the possibilities!

What a great idea, and it looks perfect!
OH .MY .GOODNESS...why do you do this to me girl? Now, I have another project on my to do list. These are too cute...I think I'll link to them again. Hope that's okay.
What a great idea! Thanks for sharing.
Diane
So very cute and creative! :)
Holly, this is what I truly call "creative"! It is not possible to see that it used to be a bulb, what a wonderful idea! You should definitely open a little shop, you would have such a success, I tell you.
I love it.;)
As soon as I saw this ornament on your sis's blog I knew how you made it - I have been looking for another application of the paper mache maracas and penguins I made in elementary school! When we did that it was heavier than decoupage beause it was paper mache and we tapped the finished product to make the glass break inside. You weren't going for that but Christmas ornaments are made of glass all the time so this makes sense!
LOVE this!! I can't pull it together for this year but I will definitely be saving all my old lightbulbs for next! Too cute!
Brillant! I must copy this!
So clever! {...and I'm still just recovering from the baby shoe tassels!}
What a lightbulb moment!!! Absolutely wonderful. love the idea. Thank you so much for sharing.
how great I have made snowmen out of light bulbs now I am going to have to make one of those!
how cool is that?!
I LOVE to decoupage with tissue paper because it forms so well to the object. This idea is genius, like your sister said. : ) She was right. I honestly thought this was a paper mache pear.
That is the COOOLEST idea...I love it when something is recycled and repurposed...and if if comes out looking like a pear (love them) even better. cherry
I LOVE that...how CUTE!
Holly what a great idea! It looks so great! I've mad snowmen out of a lightbulb but this is too cute! I'm going to add this to my list of projects.
Have a great weekend
