For the last several months I have been sewing with a broken presser foot on my machine. I have gone to some ridiculous lengths such as slipping paper underneath the side of the presser foot and hoping it will slide along the fabric to taping it up to try to keep it from catching on the fabric. So, try to laugh off my ignorance and tell me, can one replace just the presser foot on their sewing machine? And, if one can replace just the presser foot, can any one tell me where one could find said presser foot? Thank you soo much bloggy friends!! I love having such a fabulous resource.

A Few New Bows,...and Wardrobe Repurpose......
A few friends and I got together today to make bows. Yes, more bows!!! One can never have too many bows. :)
I don't know if anyone else has been feeling this way lately, but I certainly have. I open up my closet and.......SNORE........Everything in there is BoRiNg, boring, BorinG!!! I don't want to wear any of my clothes, and I don't feel like the state of the economy will really help me to justify buying any new ones. I rounded up a bunch of clothes to donate, and made a decision. I would take the ones with the most potential and try to make them into something that I would be more likely to wear. This skirt is my first and most simple re purpose. I will be doing a series of them over the next while. It was gaucho pants (which are adorable on girls with tiny little thighs, but not adorable on me.) I bought them on clearance because I loved the bohemian fabric and thought that paired with the right shirt I could make them work. Ya,...Not so much. I cut down the middle seems of the legs. Cut out the excess fabric in the hiney area, and stitched them back together to make a skirt. ( I took pictures of the process and managed to lose them in the many file folders of my computer...so sorry.) Still not my absolute favorite item of clothing, but much more likely to be worn now. One down, about 5 to go. Wish me luck!!!

Place Mats to Pillows
For those of you who have already seen this post,...I just added it to Thrifty Thursday at Bloggeritaville. Go check it out...lots of fun finds!! (Who doesn't love a bargain???)
I have been searching high and low for quite some time now for the perfect accent pillows for my half pints bed. She already had a beautiful comforter and one decorative pillow, but I could never find the finishing touches. They were either too big, too small, too expensive, too frilly, or just too......................!!!! When I finally found them they were place mats. (miner set back) They were perfect! A set of 4 for $10.-!! After buying some inexpensive batting the whole project cost me approx $12.50, which is not bad for 2 pillows.
Even more fun, they were reversible with two complimentary patterns. I decided to keep them that way so that if we ventured into that 'oh-so-pepto-bismal-tooo-pink-it's-a-girl-thing' stage,...we would already have the perfect pillows! :)
I love them! I would never trade my boys for ANYTHING, but sometimes having little girls is like actually living in the fairy tale. Bliss!!

A Pear By Any Other Name....
I have a love affair with pears. I think it's odd, but apparently many women do. They are just so cute and fresh, and don't scream out any season in particular. My apothecary jar was sitting so empty and lonely after the onslaught of many holidays, so I stuffed it full of pears. (Ha, full,...it would only hold 4.) It still looked sort of sad and wanting for detail. OF COURSE,... A TASSEL!!! Isn't that the answer to pretty much everything. So I made this cute chubby pear tassel and now my jar is happy and full of life.

Valentine your Chandelier, and an Award...
Quick and easy for those of you who have had NO time for anything extra lately. (I can relate!) I wrapped two feather boas. I tied hearts to both ends of fishing wire so that I would be able to just drape them randomly,.....and my half pint and I bonded just tossing them up there. Silly, but cute!
Thank You Protege for this wonderful award. Isn't it funny that awards still send me all a-flutter. I can just never have too many chotchkies for my side bar. :)
