Papertowel/ Ribbon holders
Answering some of your inquiries...yes, I keep my ribbon on paper towel holders. The cuter the better, so I try to find them on sale. Sometimes I can get the nice metal ones a little dinged up at a clearance price. When the husband is not home I sneak his utility knife (I have been banned from sharp objects, with good reason, I'm a klutz) and I cut the centers out of the ribbon spools so that they will fit onto the holder. "Easy peasy" to quote the big sis . And...a quick note on finding thrifty ribbon...every once in a while Michaels has a 5 for $1.00 sale. True story, I wouldn't joke about matters of such importance. That is when I stock up. They only include the 1/8th and 1/4 inch ribbons in the sale, but those are the sizes that make the best embellishments anyway. (fringe for tassels, bookmarks, scarfs, etc.)

How smart, I never thought of this. I have put mine on a dowel but I like this way better. Guess I will be hunting down some cheap pt holders from the thrift stores. Thanks for the idea! Glad your enjoying your new found blog. Blog folks are the best!
I've never thought about using paper towel holders for ribbon! What a great idea!
Oh I am so doing this! I had thought about jsut using dowels (sp) but I really like this idea. :)
Loved this post!! Last year I bought (on clearance from Pottery Barn) something very similar. It was three wooden dowels anchored into a large round base and painted white. YOU are such a thinker...way to go!
Alas...I made the fairy pixie and posted about it today. : )

What a clever idea, I will have to "borrow" this idea from you...
Love the idea. I knew I should have picked up that paper towel holder at the garage sales today. Who knew? Can't wait to be inspired by these "can do" ideas from you. Thanks for sharing.
What an awesome idea! Love your new "spot" on the web! And the great thing is since I live 1200 miles away, I can copy you and no one here will have a clue!! They will just think I'm a super smart crafty girl!
Very cool music. I think we'll use it as background tonight as my husband reads and I do ebay. Thanks.
this is a fantastic idea! I see these all the time at the thrift store. Genius! MIchaels really has ribbon 5 for $1-how often does this happen-and is there a certain time that they do this? I must get on this bandwagon!
I have done this same thing! I found a pretty metal one I sprayed black and put ribbons on it. Ribbon is addicting. I love how you described blog land....soooo true! I added you to my blog roll so I don't miss out. cherry
I have definitely got to keep my eyes open for some paper towel holders. Such a wonderful way to hold those ribbon spools. I don't even have THAT much ribbon and they are all over the place!!
Thanks for answering my question. Now i have to stock up on ribbon. You'll have to alert us when Michael's has a BIG sale! :)
Your ribbons look great this way. So glad you've joined the blogging world.
Great idea! I will have to file this one away for the future!

What a cool idea.

THIS IS A GREAT IDEA! I am so serious...I never thought about it and you should make them and sale them! Patent the idea for heavens sakes as that is just brilliant. I know what I will be going out and buying tomorow. Have a wonderful night xo, Alys
I LOVE this idea. I have so much ribbon and it is hard to remember what I have when it is just sitting in a drawer.
That is such an awesome idea. Very Martha Stewart of you. My ribbons are always getting disorganized and I've even bought special ribbon organizers from the containor store. However, your idea beats all. Love it.
You're not the only one that's not allowed sharp objects!
But these are too cute! Good thing there's loads of thrift stores near me!
