A New Mantle

I have to publicly thank my Uber-Talented Hubby for building a mantle for my fireplace. Two and 1/2 years ago when we moved into our house, I asked (so nicely) if we could get a mantle for our fireplace. My husband (the architect) only likes very simple design, modern, clean lines,........it must kill that man to be married to me. I love everything!! Victorian, classic, vintage, shabby chic, eclectic, some modern, etc. If it appeals to my senses then I like it. The fear that the thought of an embellished, over goobery fireplace mantle instilled in my man was very real and great. Finally, (out of desperation I am sure) he designed one that we both love. Simple elegance...I can so live with that. He finished it last night. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU LOVEY!! Now the big dilemma; what to put on it??!!??

I wasn't able to grab a pic of it before he got the frame work up, but this gives you an idea.
Dilemma, Dilemma, Dilemma.............Help!!?

I love it!!!! He did a great job. I don't know why I never relized you didn't have any kind of mantle. I thought you had a ledge like mine but wanted something fancier. Anyway, I'm not much help with which decor looks best on it... they all look great! I'm thinking the one with the Halloween decor on it is my favorite. Then you can switch to the picture frames and willow statues when the holidays are over. Looks fantastic!!

Oh yes...an over goobery mantel would definitely not do. Hee hee! It looks great...I love the dark stain. My vote is for the one with the boo pumpkins in the center (at least for now). Aah, think of the Christmas possibilities. I so wish we had a fireplace. sigh.

I like option #2 for now, and then after Fall I would go for Option #3 with some more wintery effects to it.

Beautiful fireplace, I just cannot imagine not having one, right? I have to agree with the majority; for the fall your pumpkin decoration is the best one.

Hey I just noticed that you have that picture of Dad and You and Me with the Model T! I guess I probably already knew you had it framed, but it warms my heart. I have it framed too!

I too like Number two. And number three for when Halloween is gone. Oh, I wish I had a mantle and a fireplace would be nice too!
