Frugal Friday

Since I have been working on this chair rescue anyway,... I decided it would be the perfect entry for today's linky party over at the Shabby Nest.

I bought my husband a new computer chair for Valentines day (romantic I know) because his old one was in a bit of disrepair. Actually that is an understatement.

Then of course my wheels started turning and I couldn't bring myself to throw the old one out when I just knew it could easily be turned into something just the right amount of tacky, clown-esq, and eccentric for my side of the office. After all,...it sure would be nice to get rid of that folding chair.

I spent $4.00 on clearance fabric at Walmart. I got really creative with batting and tape to reshape parts of the chair that were gone!!?? Then I covered it in that 'ragamuffin' style that has been floating around in the idea-o-sphere. I am quite pleased with the results. How nice to have a 'real' chair on my side of the office!!

Fabulous!!! I've always loved that look, and to use it on an old chair was genius. You worked that and the bargain fabric so well together. I'm inspired to use the technique on something too!

Dang that is one cute chair. I can't believe the amazing transformation. Love the fabric and the tattered edges!

That fabric was $4? What a catch! I like it far more than the standard old fabric there before.
We're in Germany, and our dining chairs have 70s fabric covers on them. Must recover! Thanks for the boost.

Girl, I have to hand it to you. You've got vision! Anyone else would have tossed that chair. Terrific rescue, friend!

This just kills me! First of all... I used that same fabric for pillows in my living room... and second, you have me in stitches with your "ragamuffin chair arms!" What a clever gal you are!
