Frugal Friday

Since I have been working on this chair rescue anyway,... I decided it would be the perfect entry for today's linky party over at the Shabby Nest.

I bought my husband a new computer chair for Valentines day (romantic I know) because his old one was in a bit of disrepair. Actually that is an understatement.

Then of course my wheels started turning and I couldn't bring myself to throw the old one out when I just knew it could easily be turned into something just the right amount of tacky, clown-esq, and eccentric for my side of the office. After all,...it sure would be nice to get rid of that folding chair.

I spent $4.00 on clearance fabric at Walmart. I got really creative with batting and tape to reshape parts of the chair that were gone!!?? Then I covered it in that 'ragamuffin' style that has been floating around in the idea-o-sphere. I am quite pleased with the results. How nice to have a 'real' chair on my side of the office!!

So to consult my favorite resource,...(the land of blog),...Does any body know if a photograph can be decoupaged with out it being ruined. I know that photos don't like water,...but Modge Podge? I have considered trying it out, but it seems almost sacrilegious to experimentally destroy a photo if any one else out there already knows the answer to this query. :):)

Thought I would try my hand at these posies that seem to be floating around out there on the idea circuit. I think I may very well be in love. I decided to put safety pins on the back since it is easier to pin a brooch in ones hair than it is to put a barrette on a blouse or purse.

Today I am grateful that I saw my daughter combing the cat with my toothbrush BEFORE I brushed my teeth!! :):)

Spent 4 hours yesterday making sugar cookies with my Best Jen Friend. But don't they just make the cutest little teacher Easter treats?? I am going out of town for a week to visit family. :):) See you next week. HAPPY AND BLESSED EASTER!!!

Wardrobe Repurpose part IV?,or...Just Felt Like It part II?

Had these pants that I didn't want. You know the pants that you think you love when you buy them, but then you never wear them? They just don't seem to look quite right? Well this pair is one of those. They sit there un-used,...and then there is guilt. (Hate the guilt.) So I thought it was time to experiment. I unpicked the seem right up the middle, and used the lower legs as inserts to create a skirt.

Then I OF COURSE used one of my favorite things (felt) to make lots of embellishments. I used 'Liquid Stitch" to glue them all down and then tacked them here and there with thread just to be on the safe side.

Now I have a skirt that I will actually wear. (YAY!! bye bye guilt!!:)) And....it was a surprisingly fun project.

I haven't forgotten about the wonderful Land of Blog. I have several projects under construction,...I just don't have anything complete and 'blog-worthy' yet. Please don't give up on me!?! :):)Just a heads up.....I found these adorable bunnies on sale at JoAnns for $1.50 a piece. Aren't they just edible?? (go get ya some.) You gotta love spring time!
